This publication sets out the first annual report and accounts for Youth Justice Agency of Northern Ireland, an executive agency of the Northern Ireland Office. Established in April 2003, it replaced the work of the former Juvenile Justice Board and its key aim is to prevent offending by children, by helping children to address their offending behaviour, diverting them away from crime and assisting their integration into the community. There are three strands to services provided by the Agency, comprising a youth conference service, community services and custodial services. |
