Description: |
Provides guidance on the use of covert surveillance by public authorities. This title contains the full list of authorisation levels relevant to various organisations. |
Synopsis: |
The code of practice provides guidance and rules on authorisations for the carrying out of surveillance, both directed and intrusive surveillance, under Part 2 of the Regulations of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, (ISBN 9780105423003) and for interference with property or with wireless telegraphy under Part 3 of the Police Act 1997 (ISBN: 9780105450979). The code sets out the various authorisation procedures to be followed for the grant, review, renewal and cancellation of authorisations, as well as special rules for authorisations in respect of confidential and legally privileged information. In line with current regulations the code is aimed primarily at members of public authorities involved in making applications for the grant of authorisations and those persons designated to grant authorisations |
