This assessment examines the hazards, risks and control measures that relate to fighting fires at venues where large numbers of the public attend for the purposes of entertainment, including: sports stadia; cinemas and theatres; open air venues; large night clubs; air displays and festivals; military displays and tattoos; buildings that are primarily used for other purposes, schools, shopping malls etc. Significant hazards and risks include: gaining access; large numbers of people; alcohol and drugs; violence towards emergency personnel; power and fuel supplies and other associated utilities; working at height; fire; rubbish and refuse' large temporary structures; lack of adequate water supplies; hazards associated with multi-use venues; event specific hazards for responders |
