Synopsis: |
Most accident studies take place days after the event, concentrating on the damaged vehicles and injured occupants. The OTS project, on the other hand, puts researchers at the crash scene at the same time as the emergency services, aiming to gather information about environmental and behavioural conditions leading up to the accident. The OTS data thus allow counter-measures to be developed. This report compares the results of the current OTS study with the one held 20 years earlier and provides interesting insights into changes over that period. |
