Description: |
Discusses what represents design today and what will represent it in the future. |
Synopsis: |
After the successful debut in the year 2000, Michael Erlhoff, Uta Brandes and Kobi Gantenbein again hosted the annual Design Summit, and in 2001 famous representatives of international design once more gladly answered the call to the Alpine village of St Moritz. Under the auspices of the Raymond Loewy Foundation, acknowledged stylists and design theoreticians like Mario Bellini, Axel Thallemer, Britta Pukall or Erik Spiekermann - to name but a few - gathered together for an informal exchange of ideas, free of the usual conventions. Dialogue instead of monologue, amicable brainstorming instead of self-indulgent showmanship - this is the guiding spirit of an experiment that started with a fundamental question: What is design at present and in future? |
