This is a further Government response to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's investigation "Equitable Life: a decade of regulatory failure" (HC 815, 4th report session 2007-08, ISBN 9780102957303). Following the judgment of the Divisional Court handed down on 15 October 2009 in judicial review proceedings, the Government has decided to accept additional findings made by the Ombudsman. The additional findings are detailed along with revised terms of reference (set out in annex A) for Sir John Chadwick, who is to advise on matters arising from the Government's earlier response ("Cm. 7538", ISBN 9780101748124). |
