Synopsis: |
This is the 42nd Report by the Armed Forces' Pay Review Body, and sets out their recommendations on military pay from April 2013. It includes two substantial pieces of work undertaken for this round - the scheduled five year review of X factor and a valuation of the Armed Forces Pension Scheme. Evidence was taken from the Ministry of Defence including the Secretary of State, from the Services Families Federations and by commissioned independent research. The recommendations reached are intended for the Government to consider as a whole. The future is also considered with further details of policies under MOD's New Employment Model which should include plans on the accommodation strategy and a new pay system. Because of the effect that the reforms may have on its remit the Body asks that the MOD continues to keep it briefed and await their detailed proposals. |
