This report provides a background into the transport and bus network in the Eastbourne area. The focus of the investigation is to consider whether there was a loss of competition between EBL and Cavendish as a result of the mergers. On 13 May 2009, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) in exercise of its duty under section 22 (1) if the Enterprise Act 2002 (the Act), referred to the Competition Commission (CC) for investigation and report the completed acquisitions of Eastbourne Buses Limited (EBL) and Cavendish Motor Services Limited (Cavendish) by Stagecoach Group PLC (Stagecoach). This document, together with the appendices, constitutes the Commission's final report. |
