Synopsis: |
This is the 85th in the series of annual reports from the Registrar General for Northern Ireland containing data for the year 2006 on population, migration, births, stillbirths and infant deaths, deaths and causes of death, marriages, divorces, adoptions and re-registrations. The report has two main chapters giving a demographic overview of Northern Ireland, and a report into the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study; there is also an accompanying CD-ROM containing detailed statistical tables. The year saw the highest ever population growth from migration, the number of people coming to live in Northern Ireland and for the first time ever this growth exceeded that from the natural excess of births over deaths. |
