In this Measure, the red meat industry means: activities comprised in breeding, keeping, processing, marketing and distributing cattle, sheep or pigs, and any products derived to any substantial effect from them (excluding milk and milk products, fleece wool and hides); and slaughterhouses, auctions and markets used wholly or partly for the above activities. The objectives of the Measure are: increasing efficiency or productivity: improving marketing; improving or developing services that the industry provides or could provide to the community; and, improving ways in which the industry contributes to sustainable development. |
