The work features a chronological presentation of Hughes' poems and also includes non-fiction such as "Winter Pollen" and "Shakespeare and the Goddess of Complete Being". It also seeks to provide the reader with a fresh view of Hughes' prosody and on his relations to the "movement" poets and the influence of Sylvia Plath. The poet's interest in myth, shamanism and romanticism, and his Laureateship is considered. |
