Synopsis: |
'Heart of England Fairs' is a unique collection of nearly 200 photographs taken by Midlands engineer and fairground enthusiast Jack Leeson. Jack photographed his first images at Rugby Fair in June 1949 and continued taking pictures that covered all aspects of the fairground - arrival in town, building up, rides, food, leaving town - for the next forty years. During this time he took almost 8,000 photographs, many of which have never been seen before, all of which show his love not only for the fair but of the fairground people and way of life. |
