For the last 25 years, Robert Steinke has run his own saddlery business, having served his apprenticeship with the Queen's saddler and obtaining his City and Guilds 1 and II at the Cordwainers College in London. He has also been actively involved for many years in producing and showing ponies and cobs. The experience gained in both the stable and the workshop has enabled him to write this practical hands-on approach to the care and repair of rugs. In his first book, "Repair You Own Saddlery and Harness", the author covered the complete range of repairs that both a saddler and a horse owner could, with study, practice and a little aptitude, attempt to achieve. In this book, the care of rugs has been spotlighted, and all the repairs are well within the capabilities of the average horse owner.
