Synopsis: |
This unique material is written be Rosslyn Chapel's longest established independent guide Jackie Queally. In addition to guiding small groups around the chapel and other local sacred sites the author commenced to study the Reshel, long before interest in the chapel soared. The Reshel is a body of sacred knowledge known to initiates of ancient cultures, and utilized by an inner core of Templars at Rosslyn and other key sites. This spiritual system is dynamic and still operative today. The Reshel is based on the ancient Hebrew letters generally called 'proto-Sinaitic glyphs'. These appear to be encoded within the carvings at the chapel. In this light the stones can be seen as manifestations of deep spiritual mysteries that were reflected in this early language. This esoteric guide extends Jackie's tour by giving more information on several aspects, including the Reshel. It is hoped that the book will deepen the reader's perspective on Rosslyn and its spiritual role. The exquisite hand drawings have been offered by Andrew Gilmour a retired local architect and academic whose artistic efforts have greatly enhanced the guide. Many visitors both local and foreign find the guide very useful. It appeals to novices and learned people alike as the vast knowledge is simplified to suit anyone with an interest in the chapel. |
