Finland is a strong advocate of international cooperation. In 1995, it added the EU to the long list of organizations to which it belongs. It has a population of 5,200,000. Its ethnic groups are: Finn 93 per cent, Swede 6 per cent, and others 1 per cent. Its exports cover: machinery and equipment, chemicals, metals, timber, paper, and pulp. EU Export Partners include: Sweden, Germany, UK, and Netherlands. Its imports include: foodstuffs, petroleum, chemicals, transportation equipment, iron and steel, machinery, yarn and fabrics, and grains. Its EU Import Partners are: Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, UK, and France. |
