Synopsis: Charlotte, having found the courage to leave a long and unfulfilling marriage, meets Matthew Waterstone, the producer of a radio programme she has listened to for many years. They are instantly attracted to each other and before long a loving and passionate relationship develops between them. Having to support herself, Charlotte finds a full-time job as a medical secretary in a local private hospital. Life is wonderful for Charlotte and Matthew until, inexplicably, and he calls a halt to their relationship, scared that it will go 'pear-shaped'. Advised by friends and family not to put her life on hold waiting for Matthew to come back, Charlotte reluctantly agrees to get 'out there' and meet other people. Life is not that simple though, and she struggles through its twists and turns.
