Synopsis: Excavations in 1993 and 1994 on Bonners Lane, Leicester, uncovered a frequently-repaired Roman road, roadside and industrial features, and a substantial late Roman timber building, on the site of which a sunken-featured building was constructed during the 5th and 6th century. Medieval dwellings were replaced in the early post-medieval period by a hide-processing workshop and a dye works. This volume reports on the excavation's discoveries, which are also placed within the wider context of Leicester's archaeology, as well as the finds. These included ceramics, building materials, ironworking debris and environmental remains.
