Description: |
A satirical and not very sympathetic review of the career to date of George Walker Bush, 43rd President of the USA, elected to high office with fewer votes than his opponent. His logic includes "It's clearly a budget, it's got a lot of numbers in it", and "I think we agree, the past is over." |
Synopsis: |
GEORGE WALKER BUSH, 43rd President of the United States of America, is a remarkable man. He overcame a problem that few in a democracy have achieved - elected to high office with fewer votes than his opponent. He was able to capture the imagination of the American voter. With such simple logic as, "It's clearly a budget, it's got a lot of numbers in it." or with profound reasoning like, "I think we agree, the past is over". As an apprenticeship to becoming the world's most powerful statesmen, Mr. President served as Governor of Texas. In this role he dumfounded his critics by masterminding one of the greatest leaps backward ever recorded in state politics. Who better to give an assessment of this new world leader than Bob Ellis, American watcher, film scriptwriter and journalist and Bill Leak, portrait artist and the Australian's award winning cartoonist. Yet another example of Bob and Bill teaming up to produce a satirical view of world events |
