Die Redeweise von "der Wirklichkeit der Medien" ist heute gangig geworden. Gangig zu werden beginnt inzwischen auch die Einsicht, dass wir in einer Pluralitat von Medienwirklichkeiten zwischen Alltagswelt und Virtuellen Wirklichkeiten leben und kommunizieren, und dass wir zunehmend Probleme damit bekommen, dieses Pluriversum zu koordinieren. Auch die Medienwissenschaften haben keinen gemeinsamen Beobachtungsstandpunkt entwickeln konnen und lavieren zwischen abstrakten Globalbeschreibungen und kleinteiligen empirischen Detailanalysen. Die vorgelegten Studien konzentrieren sich auf vier komplexe Beobachtungsbereiche: Medien/Medienkultur/Medienkulturwissenschaft; Virtuelle Realitaten und Medienkunste; Werbung und die Kommerzialisierung der Kommunikation, sowie Medienkonkurrenz (am Beispiel unbewegter und bewegter Bilder). |
