Synopsis: |
I. Introduction Until 20 years ago most of our knowledge on cosmical ob- jects was based merely on the analysis of visible light reaching the earth from outer space. This changed when appropriate techniques had been developed to utilize in- creasingly the perception that every kind of radiation or - generally spoken - any structure of energy hitting the earth carries information on its origin and on the con- ditions in space which influenced its qualities and propagation. This holds especially also for radiation of charged particles. In the main part of this paper we shall report on measure- ments of such charged particles and of high energy photons produced by them. |
