Description: |
Trio of comedy films featuring Adam Sandler. In 'Anger Management' (2003), Sandler and Jack Nicholson star (with a host of cameos from the likes of Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta and John McEnroe) in the story of a man who unwittingly discovers he has a lot of pent-up anger within him. Dave Buznick (Sandler) is ordered to undergo a course of anger management therapy after he is accused of air rage. The course is run by Dr Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) who brings together a disparate group of people for his sessions; from bi-sexual porn stars through to an ex-con. However, Buddy has his own issues and these come to light when he insists on moving in with Dave for spell of intensive therapy. In 'Happy Gilmore' (1996), Sandler is a would-be hockey star who finds his slap shot better employed on the fairway. When his granny loses her house to the IRS, Happy determines to buy it back by winning the pro golf tour. His temper and antics soon make him golf's media darling, but a bitter rival (Christopher McDonald) has a few tricks in store. 'Mr Deeds' (2002), is an updating of the 1936 Frank Capra classic 'Mr Deeds Goes to Town'. Sandler takes on the Gary Cooper role of smalltown poet and pizzeria owner, Longfellow Deeds, who inherits $40 billion from his uncle and sets off for New York to take over his new business empire, bringing his smalltown values with him. Television reporter Babe Bennett (Winona Ryder) poses as an innocent smalltown girl in order to dig up any dirt on him, but, despite her best efforts, finds him to be nothing other than a gentleman, and even falls for him. |
