Description: |
Collection comprising three of the silent-era star's best-loved films. In 'The Sheik' (1921), desperate to woo English socialite Diana (Agnes Ayres), Sheik Ahmed (Valentino) kidnaps her and whisks her away to his luxurious desert tent. At first she resists his advances but when she is kidnapped by ruthless desert bandits she begins to realise that she has true feelings for her sultry lover. But will the Sheik arrive in time to rescue her from the clutches of the bandits. In 'The Eagle' (1925), Valentino plays a Russian Cossack who is banished after rejecting the advances of the smitten Czarina, Catherine the Great (Louise Dresser). He then becomes the dashing and roguish bandit the Eagle. Finally, in 'Blood and Sand' (1922), Valentino plays a bullfighter in a small town in Spain. He becomes one of the most idolised matadors in the country and marries good Catholic girl Carmen (Lila Lee), a coy innocent with bow tie lips. However, he is seduced by Dona Sol (Nita Naldi), a high society man-eater who decides to add a bullfighter to her conquests. |
