Description: |
Triple-bill of classic horror films. In 'Carnival of Souls' (1962) Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss) survives a car accident, only to find herself plagued by visions of a sinister figure and strangely drawn to an old, abandoned carnival. 'The Ape Man' (1943) stars Bela Lugosi as James Brewster, a deranged scientist experimenting on a serum derived from the spinal fluid of gorillas. When the simian serum begins to turn Brewster into an ape-creature, he discovers that the antidote is a similar serum taken from the spinal fluids of human beings, forcing him into committing terrible crimes in an attempt to reverse the effects of his experiment. Finally, in 'Mesa of Lost Women' (1953), deranged scientist Dr Aranya (Jackie Coogan) experiments on captured women in his Mexican laboratory, in a bid to create a race of super-strong spiderwomen with which he can take over the world. |
