The gun intrigues him, and although he knows that not having a license he should hand it over to the police, he hesitates, and instead puts it in a safe-deposit box at his bank together with various other items.The next morning, he receives an anxious phone call from an assistant manager who admits that he forgot to lock the deposit box after Julian left. He hurries back to the bank to find that all the contents are there - except for the gun.
