The first annual conference of the 4M Network of Excellence, 4M2005, took place from 29th June 1st July 2005 at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe in Germany, and proved an excellent platform to canvas the views of both the Scientific and Industrial communities within the field of Micro-manufacturing. The response was fantastic - over 100 papers were presented, with contributions from almost 300 authors from over 65 organisations. These papers are published here, alongside the nine keynote addresses by prominent invited speakers, and the edited transcripts of two excellent panel discussions that took place during the conference. Topics covered include: Polymer Processing, Processing of Metals, Processing of Ceramics Metrology, Assembly and Packaging, Tooling Technologies, Microfluidics, Micro Sensors and Actuators. |
