Synopsis: |
Increasing concern has been voiced over the last few years about the conditions in which people live in the various types of temporary accommodation provided by local authorities as part of their statutory responsibilities under Part III of the Housing Act 1985. Using case studies, questionnaires and interviews as well as a physical survey of accommodation provided, researchers aimed to study the management of such accommodation, variations in policy practice between local authorities, characteristics of homeless people who live in temporary accommodation and the physical conditions of the accommodation in which they find themselves. |
