Synopsis: |
This report responds to the Governments response (Cm.8557 (ISBN 9780101855723)) to the Committee's fourth report of session 2012-13 (HCP 425 (ISBN 9780215048240)). It highlights both the lateness of, and lack of detail contained within, the Government response. It also challenges a number of assertions made by the Government and once again urges it to change course and exclude overseas students from its net-migration targets. The Committee recommended that: "for domestic policy purposes, overseas students should be recorded under a separate classification and not be counted against the overall limit on net migration." |
