Synopsis: |
This is the second book in a series which has been designed to develop a wide range of comprehension skills, including factual, inferential and literal comprehension. The books can be used to reinforce comprehension and vocabulary activities undertaken in any language programme. The coverage of the material is wide, allowing teachers to select those activities which fit into language, thematic or genre-based teaching programmes. Each checkpoint can be developed into a learning episode which invites teacher expansion, and encourages students to practise their skills. Teachers can use classroom management strategies which involve student participation, developing comprehension skills and encouraging further reading and writing. This series can used to supplement the "Language Checkpoints" programme. Books 3-6 of this series correspond to Book 1-4 of "Language Checkpoints". |
