Description: |
This volume covers heterocyclic 6- and 7-membered ring systems containing "unusual" hetero-atoms. The contributors illustrate the "unusual" nature of heterocycles containing elements such as boron, phosphorus and silicon atoms. |
Synopsis: |
Hardbound. This volume deals with Heterocyclic 6- and 7- membered ring systems, containing 'unusual' hetero atoms. It should be noted that Chapters 55 and 56 dealing with related topics are not included here, but will appear together with chapters 57-60 in the final volume of the 2nd Supplement, Volume 4K (partial)/L.The title of this Volume is, of course, the same as that in the 2nd Edition, published some 20 years ago. However, since then the 'unusual' nature of heterocycles containing, for example, phosphorus, boron and silicon atoms is no longer what it was. Certainly, the number of publications in the chemical literature reflects just how much this general subject area has expanded. Thus, the contributors to this volume have had to exercise all their skills in order to meld together the huge amount of information available into a sharply focused account. This task has been accomplished splendidly by the authors, and completed well within the deadli |
