Description: |
The "Terrible Times" is a fire-and-brimstone newspaper published on the east coast of North America, but owned by Eddie Dickens's family back in England. When the six-monthly figures fail to reach Awful End, it is decided that Eddie must go to America to find out what is wrong. |
Synopsis: |
In Terrible Times our erstwhile hero Eddie Dickens finds himself en-route to North America in the dubious care of professional chaperone Lady Constance Bustles, whose previous charges have all died under mysterious circumstances. He finds himself sharing a berth with disreputable prospectors, some familiar faces (stuffed animal and human) from his past, and with the Great Gretcha who suffers from serious bouts of sleeping sickness. |
