Synopsis: |
The RHS Pocket Address Book showcases the work of Lilian Snelling MBE (1879-72), in particular her mature style, which formed the outstanding model for the British botanical artists of the latter half of the 20th Century. After studying at the Royal College of Art, London, Lilian became a professional artist, contributing the illustrations to the supplements of Henry Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium. From 1916-21, she worked at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh and in 1922 she became the principal illustrator of Curtis's Botanical Magazine and continued there until 1952. The RHS Pocket Address Book is illustrated in colour throughout and has a storage pocket on the inside back cover. Companion diary also available. |
