Synopsis: |
In the Lancashire village of Middlemoss, enfolded in the last acres of an ancient forest, Lizzie is cooking up a defensive storm of comfort food now that her charming but quick-tempered husband, Tom, is turning increasingly unpredictable. But there are some things that even a rich chocolate souffle can't put right, and she soon realizes that at the end of the summer, when their son Jasper goes off to university, she must end her marriage and leave her beloved cottage forever. Meanwhile, the growing rivalry between Lizzie and cookery writer Nick Pharamond up at the Hall is coming to a rapid simmer, and he may just have called her the Queen of Puddings once too often... |
