Synopsis: This CD-ROM is an interactive version of the popular book, "Pipe Line Rules of Thumb Handbook", now publishing its fifth edition. Just as the book has been updated, the new version of the CD has been significantly expanded to provide quick access to over 400 text articles and perform over 200 calculations. Software improvements have also made Version 2.0 even more user friendly. No one working in pipelines today should be without this invaluable tool. For example, in the section called "Pipe Laying", there are automatic formulas for how to determine the degrees of bend in a pipe that must fit a ditch, how to calculate maximum bend on cold pipe, how to determine length of pipe bend, and how to calculate allowable pipe span between supports. Each chapter and subhead has these equations and formulas built into the text, so that with the click of a mouse, the user can get to a "mini-program," to plug in their numbers and get the formula they need for that particular job. Also included are two data sets, one listing over 60 hydrocarbons and their physical properties, and the other listing common pipe specifications. All new material from the new, fifth edition of "Pipeline Rules of Thumb Handbook", has been added to this new version of the CD-ROM. It includes over 200 equations built in for quick calculations. All of the articles (more than 400) in the text edition are available on CD with keyword search capabilities. It also includes: hundreds of tables, graphs and illustrations, sample procedures and forms, performance curves, conversions, physical and thermodynamic properties, and glossaries of terms.
