Hattie Weatherall's heart leapt when she first saw Abbot's Mill. With her dog and assortment of wild fowl for company, she sets about renovating the mill. As Hattie settles in, she befriends two young boatmen: Toby, who is recovering from a broken marriage, and Joss, whose problems are not so easily solved. But when Joss turns to Hattie for support, the motherly love that blossoms enables them both to heal old wounds. |
