For many years Westonbury Cathedral has been dominated by a clique of High-Church gays. But when Norm Cooper, a strict evangelist, is appointed dean, there is outrage and fear. David Elworthy, the new bishop, is distraught at the prospect of warfare between the factions. But the bishop's problems worsen when a corpse is found in the cathedral.
