Synopsis: |
SOPHIA is devoted to providing a forum for discussions in philosophical theology and philosophy of religion that engage scholarly and contemporary interests. The journal has a 38-year reputation in the field and focuses on the interstices between philosophy (traditional and modern) and theological thinking, covering issues in the broad spectrum of the philosophy of religion, and which includes ethics or moral issues in the applied contexts, cross-cultural concerns, and feminist theology. The re-launched Ashgate SOPHIA offers an expanded international editorial board, reflecting SOPHIA's wider international contributions and appeal, as well as greater breadth of content in line with the expanding discipline. The regular section on mainstream philosophy of religion will be supplemented with continental and indigenous responses to issues and developments in the field. The journal is appropriately pitched to be read by undergraduates, postgraduates and academics across key areas of philosophy and religious studies, particularly: the philosophy of religion, metaphysical/philosophical theology, cultural studies, continental thought, world philosophies/religions, contemporary comparative studies, and feminist/gender a/theology. |
