Synopsis: |
This marks the first time that the Gleyvis Coro Montanet's poetry has been translated into English. The volume consists of three sections that explore poetry in different ways; prose poems, poems with rhyme schemes, and poems in free verse. This volume of poems is a translation into English of the collected works of the Cuban poetess Gleyvis Coro Montanet. She is a member of a new generation of poets that reside on the island and who came of age during the 'special period' of the 1990's. In these poems Coro Montanet explores themes that are at once particular and universal. She deals with issues of patriarchy both at work and at home, as well as love and politics. |
