He examines works by, among others, Masaccio, Brunelleschi, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. The text suggests that the artist assumed much of the interlectual responsibility of humanism by developing the means of accepting the means of effectivly translating its ideals into visally legible terms. |
