Michel Ronay, a Marseille taxi driver, serves the citizens in the Christmas rush. Meanwhile, Salvator, a gangster, after his escape from a trap in August has decided to involve Michel in his plans but Gerrard, the Gendarme, has other ideas. To add to Michel's problems, his wife, Monique, tells him that as well as all the family coming for Christmas, cousin Henri and his wife are arriving from Le Touquet. Then Salvator's father is killed in a car crash whilst being chased by the police and Michel fears retribution as he informed Gerrard about Salvator's plans.When Michel and Henri set off to rescue two aunts involved in a car accident, Henri proposes a business partnership with Michel in Le Touquet. After their return, Michel attends the funeral of Salvator's father where Gerrard arrests the gangster and Michel gets involved in the struggle. Michel then buys an engagement ring for Josette, his favourite mistress, before spending a relaxing Christmas alternating between his family and Josette whilst dreaming of a new life in Le Touquet. |
