Synopsis: |
This teacher's pack accompanies the student's book Panorama francophone 1 and is designed to prepare students for the ab initio French course for the International Baccalaureate Language B DP programme. It is the first of two books covering the 2-year course. It is also suitable for students preparing for the IGCSE French examination. The pack contains a teacher's book with answers to all the questions, pedagogical aims of each exercise, advice on lesson structure, examiner's tips, a chapter on language games, as well as downloadable audio files, downloadable worksheets with extra examination practice and a student glossary in French, Spanish and English. Panorama francophone 1 is totally international in approach, and is especially designed to engage older teenager learners. Currently many IB students use materials that are designed for much younger learners, which are not motivating and do not adequately account for their intellectual level. Panorama francophone 1 is age-appropriate and requires students to think and reflect at a level that is suitable for an IB Diploma student. There is a strong emphasis on developing intercultural understanding.Key points: The emphasis is on French as a world language, with francophone culture taking a central role, All the key IB texts and themes are covered across the two books, The content is designed to engage learners between 16 and 18 years of age, All elements of the examination are covered across the two books, Audio exercises are built into each unit, All the language is taught and practised in context, ToK and CAS are fully integrated into the learning. |
