Synopsis: |
From childhood years living in the middle of a wood in an RAF Nissan Hut with no electricity, heating, running water or flushing toilets, life was very needy. Her mother's dream was for her to be a dancer, a John Tiller Girl. Here Fay Robinson writes in-depth on the highs and lows of her career with reminiscences of her family, fellow dancers, directors and producers. She danced her way to professional pinnacles: Sunday Night at the London Palladium Television, Saturday Spectacular, Billy Cotton Band Shows and the Royal Albert Hall Christmas Spectacular. Her extraordinary talent ruled by show business discipline took her to choreograph and recreate a new line of Tiller Girls for the Danny La Rue Show and become a fitness consultant and beauty therapist. She dedicates her work helping others, performing in charity shows with her 60s Tillers. Working away from home she was never alone, there were her 16 sisters, her extended family. |
