The 13th International Symposium on Advanced Vehicle Control (AVEC'16) was held from September 13-16 2016 in Munich, Germany. The AVEC Symposium has a long history as one of the leading international conferences on vehicle dynamics and advanced vehicle control. The main objective of the symposium was to bring together the world's leading scientists and experts in the fields of vehicle dynamics and advanced vehicle control. Latest developments and progress in research were presented and discussed at the symposium and new impulses were given. As the vehicle continues its evolution into an increasingly 'scientific' product at a rapid pace, cross-fertilization between industry and academia cultivated by AVEC symposia is more relevant than ever and an opportunity not to be missed. AVEC'16 put a special focus on automatic driving and autonomous driving functions, integrated control of interacting control systems, controlled suspension systems, active wheel torque distribution and vehicle state and parameter estimation.Because automatic driving is not ready to go into mass production in the near future, the driver's assistance is seen as a bridge technology in this direction and was focused on at AVEC'16 as well. |
