Synopsis: |
Shortly after the Indian cessation of West Tennessee in 1818, the Montgomery family moved to the southeastern part of West Tennessee. The earliest Montgomery settlers in the area with known descendants are David Montgomery of the Dunbar area of Perry (now Decatur) County and James Montgomery of the Shady Grove area of Hardin County. They both arrived in the area between 1820 and 1830 and lived within 10 miles of each other in these adjoining counties. This second edition book contains my research into the genealogy of these two Montgomery families. |
