The story of Kael a Celtic Prince, of Sarah Armitage, an ambitious young archaeologist and a desperate Celtic tribe driven to make the ultimate sacrifice: their own future king must die the ritual Death of Three. Bog bodies such as Lindow Man discovered in Cheshire in 1984, though perfectly preserved are ancient. Sarah gets the chance of a lifetime with the discovery of a bog body, but then the vivid, frightening dreams begin, retelling events preceding Kael's death. Haunted by the ghosts of Kael and his lover Soan, past and present mix in her mind. Unwisely becoming romantically involved with a co-worker whilst feeling a growing attraction to Andy, the policeman in charge of a potential murder scene; her work and relationships suffer. Offered the chance to put things right for Kael and Soan she must choose between their happiness and her own. Dare she do what the voices from the past beg her? Is she a human first or a scientist? This is a ghost story, a thriller and a poignant tale of doomed love. |
