Ways of developing disinfection strategies are reviewed.The five main learning outcomes provide:- a good appreciation of the importance of disinfection;- knowledge of the design and operation of disinfection systems;- an understanding of how to avoid excessive by-product formation;- knowledge of the Ct principle and how it can be used;- an appreciation of how to develop a disinfection strategy.
