The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by the Germans in World War ll. Despite there being little military resistance to the German arrival, the Germans saw it as a considerable propaganda coup, using it to send the message that mainland England would be next. However, as this book explains, the British government were defiant and ensured that the Islands were not forgotten in their war plans. As well as discussing the raids that took place, Will Fowler also takes a detailed look at the proposed raids which were never acted upon.
