Motta, MD, PhD. (September 18th 1942 -June 19th 2002). Dr. Motta received both his PhD and MD from the University of Messina.His last appointments were: Director and Chairman of the Department of Human Anatomy, University of Rome 'La Sapienza', Past-President of the Italian Society of Anatomy, Secretary General of the International Committee of Symposia on Morphological Sciences, President of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). He published 350 papers, 50 invited articles in journals and edited volumes, 37 books on microscopic and macroscopic anatomy of reproductive, digestive, and cardiovascular systems and embryology. His awards include: six times Medical Doctor "Honoris Causa": University of Trujillo (Peru); University of Oradea (Romania), University of Timisoara (Romania), University of Iasi (Romania), University of Lisboa (Portogallo) and University of Constanta (Romania). He was on the Editorial Board of 27 national and international journals. Original illustrations of his scientific work have been reproduced in TV programs, books, encyclopedias and in permanent exhibitions in international museums. Sayoko Makabe, MD, PhD. A graduate of the Toho University School of Medicine, Dr.Makabe is currently Assistant Professor at that institution, Director of Kanda 2nd Clinic, and Visiting Assistant Professor at Tottori University Faculty of Medicine. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the International Menopause Society and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. She specializes in the ultrastructure of female reproductive organs and in vitro fertilization and has done international joint research with Professor ESE Hafez and Professor PM Motta. |
