Comedian Phill Jupitus is a long-standing and enthusiastic Dad's Army fan, and this CD features four of his favourite episodes of the classic series. In 'Absent Friends' (13 April 1976), Sergeant Wilson's been left in charge, but when Mainwaring suddenly returns he finds the platoon have gone AWOL. 'The Menace from the Deep' (27 May 1974) sees them stationed at the end of the pier with a wayward mine, while in 'The Battle of Godfrey's Cottage' (25 February 1974), it's decided that Godfrey's home is the perfect place to repel intruders to Walmington. Finally, in 'When Did You Last See Your Money?' (27 May 1975), Jones realises he has lost GBP500 entrusted to him. Fortunately, the platoon agree to help their comrade. Providing stalwart support to the stars are John Laurie, James Beck, Arnold Ridley, Ian Lavender and Bill Pertwee. 2 CDs. 1 hr 51 mins. |
