Features include: "side-bars" offering the author's commentary on the background to the stories; an interactive map of the stories' locations that links to a photo gallery of scenes from the tales; the full text of both "Double Dare Gang" storybooks; and on-screen templates that bring greater depth and immediacy to learners' story-making games. A mouseclick allows pupils to hear the tales read by the author. The CD allows whole-class, group or individual work at the keyboard and the activities are fully supported by teaching notes. Photocopiable pages from the ALPS StoryMaker manual can be printed from the disc. The Weblinks offer access to Steve Bowkett's website, which features a wealth of information on his other books, including thousands of words of text - novels, short stories, poems. |
