It includes a narrative of the course of the campaign accompanied by maps of military operations, descriptions of the fortifications with detailed diagrams, and accounts with maps of all the major battles and several lesser engagements. All the campaign, battle and sector maps are in full colour, as are many of the pictures which enliven the text.
